Using a vernacular of traditional local materials, the form of the building was inspired by a typical lake side hamlet , and created vignette views of the spectacular setting including key lakeside towns and the prominent peaks of the surrounding mountains. The contemporary interior is arranged around a double height volume visually connecting the various levels of the space and providing further glimpsed views of the surroundings.
